1. Information We Collect

When you use Tuskk, we collect information to provide and improve our services. This includes:

  • Account information: Your email address, name, and authentication credentials when you create an account.
  • Scanned content: Images and documents you scan, along with the data extracted from them (text, amounts, dates, names, etc.).
  • User context: Notes and context you add to your scanned items.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system, app version, and a device identifier for anonymous session management.
  • Usage data: How you interact with the app, including features used, scan frequency, and search queries.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Tuskk's scanning and recall features.
  • Process and extract data from your scanned documents using AI.
  • Enable natural language search across your stored memories.
  • Generate insights, detect patterns, and surface relevant information.
  • Manage your account, subscriptions, and credits.
  • Send transactional emails (verification codes, export deliveries).
  • Prevent abuse and enforce usage limits.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit. Scanned images are stored in Cloudflare R2 with access restricted to your account. Database backups are encrypted and retained for disaster recovery.

We use industry-standard security practices including TLS encryption, hashed passwords (bcrypt), secure session management, and regular security audits.

4. AI Processing

Tuskk uses AI models to extract data from your scans and generate insights. Your scanned content is processed by our AI pipeline and is not used to train third-party AI models. Extracted data is stored in your account and is only accessible by you.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following cases:

  • Service providers: We use third-party services for infrastructure (Cloudflare, cloud hosting), payment processing (RevenueCat/Apple/Google), and email delivery (Resend). These providers access only the minimum data needed to perform their services.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Tuskk or its users.

6. Data Retention

Your scanned memories and extracted data are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual memories at any time. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and export your data at any time.
  • Delete individual memories or your entire account.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications.
  • Request a copy of all data we hold about you.

8. Children's Privacy

Tuskk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
